The Tucker Team road trips from Americade to New Hampshire for Laconia Motorcycle Week.
The Tucker Field Marketing team woke up on Sunday Morning after attending Americade in New York knowing they had an epic 200+ mile ride to Alton Bay, New Hampshire. They hit the road in perfect weather, 70 degrees and sunny, and couldn’t ask for anything more.
Their route took them on Highway 4, to 103, to 89, then 393 into Alton Bay, and they were impressed with the wide-open roads; twisties, turn after turn, and beautiful scenery. If you’ve never been to New England, words cannot describe the incredible views. “After riding all over Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Utah, Wyoming, and Oregon, this is my favorite place to ride,” explained Justin Giles.
Laconia Motorcycle Week is a fantastic Rally, true to its roots. It was a stop of the Original Gypsy Tour back in 1916 making it the oldest Motorcycle Rally in the US, with 2019 being its 96th year of “riding legacy.” Spread out around Lake Winnipesaukee, from Laconia to Meredith; there’s a little something for everyone with organized rides, vintage races, freestyle shows, live music, motorcycle demos and more.
The boardwalk along Weirs Beach is where the bulk of the action happens, with vendors from all over the country setting up shop along Lakeside Avenue on the shore of Lake Winnipesaukee. Riders eat, drink, and even swim while they check out the live music and watch the hill climb competition on Tower Street. Those looking for a little more action can walk across Daniel Webster Highway to check out the vendors and entertainment at the Laconia Roadhouse.
With 96 years of practice putting on a fun and entertaining event in a spectacular setting, Laconia is a worthwhile trip and a good excuse for a road trip to New England. It’s a premier motorcycle rally experience, and another event checked off our bucket list.
