Galfer first invented the Wave rotor design in the early ‘90s to solve the problem of water and mud clinging to the brake rotor surface of trial competition motorcycles. The new kit is the natural progression of the Galfer wave rotor technology.
“These rotors take a beating. They are specifically designed to deliver extreme braking performance under heavy-heat conditions,” says Jef Odom, Offroad Specialist at Tucker. “Galfer already had round rotors and when they combined the material they used for the round rotors with the Tsunami design, they had a product that allowed the braking system to run cooler and started a new generation of brake rotor technology.”
Designed for track use, the 280 Tsunami Oversized Wave Rotor provides the rider with a strong, initial bite and aggressive braking throughout the power curve with cooling characteristics. The rotor blade is completely slotted from the top to the bottom diagonally and in opposite directions. “If you are running on a track that would boil your brake fluid in a few laps, then these are the rotors you need on your bike,” says Odom.
The kit includes the rotor and 6061-T6 aluminum caliper relocation bracket. Sintered 1396 HH ceramic pads are recommended for best performance (available separately).
