DESCRIPTION
The 189 Selective Amplifier can be operated as either a variable Q tuned amplifier or as a stable multi-phase oscillator having a frequency range of 0.1Hz to 110kHz. The unit can perform many functions formerly reserved for more complex instruments. Applications include use as a wave analyzer having a bandwidth adjustable from 1% to 100%, and as a distortion analyzer capable of measuring distortion levels as low as 0.01% when used in conjunction with a suitable ac voltmeter. Given the high performance and versatility of the 189, the instrument should find wide application where the requirements include either a high quality selective amplifier or oscillator.
