DESCRIPTION
The 1686 Digital Capacitance Bridge is an all solid-state instrument that automatically measures series capacitance from 199.99 pF full scale to 1999.9 µF at 1 kHz and 1.999 nF full scale to 1000.0 mF at 120Hz. Fast, within 250 ms, single point measurements or repetitive measurements with intervals variable from 0.25 and 10 seconds may be made. Results are displayed on a 4 1/2-digit digital readout. Basic accuracy is within 0.1% for 1kHz measurements and within 0.5% for 120Hz measurements. The 1686 has additional features which make it particularly useful for manual, semi- or fully-automatic selection and sorting applications. A built-in, two-limit comparator facilitates go/no-go sorting. Any upper and lower limits of C (within the range) of the meter can be selected on thumbwheel switches, up to 199.9 mF. Any upper limit of D can be set on the D dial.
